First approach to the selection of experiments after the ideation phase. The 5th Transnational Meeting was held in Isernia, Italy, on June 18-19, 2024

This 5th Transnational Meeting is a testament to the vitality of our network, with the participation of our 10 partners who were present for this meeting. They reaffirmed their commitment and demonstrated a high level of involvement by collaborating in unison to reflect on and select the experiments to be deployed at the local level.

First approach to the selection of experiments after the ideation phase

After the ideation phase conducted in Greece in April, in consultation with elected officials, associations, and local stakeholders, Christophe Gouache, an expert from Breaking Isolation, initiated the selection phase of the experiments. How to choose the most promising ones? What selection criteria should be used? Which target audiences (seniors, active, inactive, youth) should be targeted? How to implement them locally? Agen, which participated two years ago in the Urbact program on "participatory democracy," was able to highlight the chosen experiments and review their selections. In September and October 2024, the 10 selected cities will refine their choices. Ultimately, some of the selected experiments will be integrated into the local Integrated Action Plan.

In conclusion, this meeting represents a first approach to the ideation phase. There is still in-depth reflection work to be done by the member cities to generate more creative and innovative ideas and to begin selecting those that will be the most relevant.

Interview of Claude Florentiny

Municipal councilor responsible for social affairs, community centers, women's rights, and specialized educator.

"These civic practices inspired me to reflect more on isolation, particularly by working on intergenerational relationships and rethinking mobility for seniors."

Recently, I participated in the TNM in Italy. It is a region where spirituality is present in all areas, leaving little room for social isolation. The transmission of knowledge from the elderly to the younger generations, intergenerational projects between kindergartens and nursing homes... the ideas discussed at the TNM in favor of seniors are applicable to the city of Agen. I return enriched by this event, with a strong desire to deepen my involvement, my commitment, and to create a real network of fraternity.

Interview of Sandrine Panzer

Departmental Director of the Social Division for the Red Cross of Lot-et-Garonne.

"The ideation workshops were particularly stimulating, encouraging collective reflection to imagine new perspectives to apply locally."

During my participation at the TNM in Italy, I experienced a stay filled with kindness and wonderful encounters, which allowed for enriching exchanges, both on a human and cultural level. The ideation workshops were particularly stimulating, encouraging collective reflection to imagine new perspectives to apply locally. I was deeply touched by the commitment of the people I met, their daily involvement being both moving and inspiring for our work.

Interview of Alexia Labonne

Coordinator of the Territorial Health Professional Community (CPTS) of the Greater Agenais region.

"This experience helped me step back and add more depth to our projects."

Within CPTS, My role is to coordinate projects on access to healthcare and health pathways, with a focus on fighting isolation and maintaining autonomy at home. During my participation at the TNM in Italy, I was impressed by the richness of the exchanges despite the language barriers and the warm welcome. The ideation phase was particularly enriching, allowing me to acquire new facilitation methods and observe that the ideas shared between professionals from different countries were transferable to our local context. This experience helped me take a step back and add more depth to our projects, while strengthening my commitment to our local group. I now hope these initiatives will be implemented by our community.
