The students of the Territorial Marketing and Consumer Behavior course of the University of Arkansas - Walton College of Business in Rome met with representatives of the City during a meeting dedicated to the presentation of the RU:RBAN project, which took place on the 27th of June at the Rome University headquarters.
The talk focused on the role of urban agriculture as a resilience tool and model in addressing specific topics such as Environmental Education (e.g. Circular Economy), Quality of Food (Nutrition Awareness), Social and Emotional Well-being (e.g. Elderly Population), Abandoned Land Re-use (decay prevention) and Phyto-remediation (Brownfield decontamination).
RU: RBAN could benefit from the valuable inputs provided by the students of the course held by Prof. Molly Jensen since territorial marketing, a topic not at the center of the project’s transfer process, could provide a completely new and significant perspective to the role of urban agriculture.
Giorgio Scavino, Neisos project manager (https://www.neisos.it/en/neisos/), concluded the meeting with the presentation of the CART D'ORT research work focused on the sense of community. Mr Scavino highlighted the importance of good practices such as Rome urban gardens to demonstrate the benefits and the added value of sharing in the making of a community.
