2Nite project serves as a learning opportunity to incorporate European practices into the policies of Sant Boi.

The bilateral meeting of the 2Nite Project between the representation of the Lead Partner, Turin City Council, with the expert appointed by the Urbact Secretariat and the project partner, Sant Boi de Llobregat City Council, consisted of a visit to Sant Boi de Llobregat and took place on February 13, 2025.
This visit started with a joint meeting at the Sant Boi de Llobregat City Hall in the morning. During this meeting, the current situation in Sant Boi de Llobregat was explained by various participants, including politicians and technicians from the City Council.
After the meeting concluded, the physical visit started. The focus was on evening and nighttime leisure activities primarily taking place in public spaces in Sant Boi. This includes municipal facilities that provide programmed leisure options, as well as the venues of the main stakeholder, which offers a variety of community leisure activities in the neighborhood.

At the meeting, the Deputy Mayor of the Cohesive and Transforming City explained the focus of her area: the people's domain, which includes housing, youth, and related policies. This project is specifically tied to the youth sector and also incorporates aspects of security and he outlined the Community and Well-being Transformative Project. This initiative focuses on engaging citizens by opening doors to community participation and implementing actions driven by the citizens themselves. The project's aim is to foster positive coexistence among various groups within the city. It is labeled as "transformative"
because it contributes to the city’s medium- and long-term objectives and policies.

In Addition the Councilor for Adolescence and Youth explained that in Sant Boi, the stages of adolescence and youth encompass ages 12 to 35. The policies in place address various aspects of these stages, with a particular emphasis on enhancing leisure opportunities. The aim of Sant Boi is to provide healthy public leisure options that are accessible to young individuals who are not yet legally of age. In this context, the 2Nite project serves as a learning opportunity to incorporate European practices into the policies of Sant Boi, allowing us to align with these approaches. It addresses various demands and profiles, with the goal of identifying community needs rather than simply relying on the population to voice their requests.

Afterwards, the Councilor for Public Security and the Marianao District explained the area's structure, preventive planning, and ongoing actions. From a police perspective, crime levels in the city are low, partly because there is no subway system.

The RodEscola program focuses on road safety in schools, promoting a healthy lifestyle and instilling protective values regarding public spaces and road safety. Prevention occurs at the district level through monitoring, warning, and reporting. This proactive approach involves requests from neighborhoods or residents, while the reactive aspect addresses and resolves any claims raised.

Sant Boi has activities for social and cultural leisure:  there are several social leisure programs available for young people. The City Council organizes an 18-year-old party at Can Massallera during the day. Additionally, the Fundació Marianao collaborates with the City Council to host "Vente pa'ka," which takes place at 10 p.m. and includes video game sessions and sports practice in municipal facilities. Another initiative, called "Fent Carrer," connects young people in public spaces. It aims to identify their leisure and non-leisure needs by conducting street routes, engaging in conversations, and empowering them to organize their own activities.

"Sant Boi offers a variety of recreational spaces that provide opportunities for young people to socialize and connect with each other. "

At the end of the meeting, a walk was taken around the Rambla area and the old town, which is where leisure is concentrated in the evenings and nights. The group reached the entrance of the Can Castellet Cinemas and visited the Cal Ninyo municipal facility and civic centre. The spaces, multipurpose room, theater and terrace were visited. The space is used in the programmed actions and by the cultural associations that have their headquarters there.
