URBACT Local Groups are key in the construction of partner cities’ Educational Innovation Networks (EIN). They represent the different stakeholders that will take part in the future Educational Innovation Networks and they are contributing to lay its foundations.
What do the ULG members think about the EIN and its future? Today we start sharing a series of interviews with different points of view and perspectives. Sandra Figuereido, the ULG coordinator from Albergaria transfer city, will be the first to speak.
- What's your name and what do you do?
Sandra Figueiredo, Head of the Economic Development Office of the Municipality of Albergaria--Velha.
- What is your role within the network?
ULG Coordinator.
- What do you think the network can contribute in your city?
The network is very important for our city, namely: Because we meet regularly with all partners; Possibility to participate in meetings of other partners, not only schools, important in the definition and implementation of activities that promotes employment and the school-labor market relationship; The participation of associations and other companies in the network can help define which professional areas schools can work on to meet the real labour work needs.; Promote innovation and technology in schools.
- What would you like the EIN to be in 3 years?
I hope that in three years our EIN will be active and functioning, continuing to have more and more partners, as companies and local cultural, sports and social associations; and that all these partners can contribute to the definition of a municipal strategy for a participatory and inclusive education that meets the real needs of companies and individuals. May our school community (parents, students, teachers, companies and partners) feel integrated and be participative in the activities that we will implement and work together.
