The capacity building component of EUI seeks to improve and increase the capacities of cities in the design of sustainable urban development policies, strategies and practices in an integrated and participative way. It also contributes to the design and implementation of these policies and action plans on a local, regional and national level. This element encompasses the cooperation with URBACT IV Networks of cities, as well as peer learning activities and Urban Development Network-type capacity building.

City-to-City Exchanges
Looking to discuss with fellow urban practitioners a specific challenge you are facing? Interested in building your capacity in integrated, participatory and place-based approaches to Sustainable Urban Development? This offer provides support to urban authorities in addressing implementation challenges related to sustainable urban development. The call for applications for city-to-city exchanges opened on 4 April 2023 and will close on 17 November 2023 at 12:00 CET. Applications are submitted and approved for implementation on a rolling basis while the call is open.
