Summary

Karin Schönpflug is an economist with a degree from the University of Vienna, Austria.  She has worked in the Austrian Ministry of Finance and is now a researcher of applied economics at Vienna’s Institute for Advanced Studies and is teaching staff at the FH-Campus Wien.

She has extensive teaching experience as a lecturer of economics and transdisciplinary studies at Universities in Austria, the US and New Zealand.

Her research is focusing on the socio-economic inclusion and exclusion of queer and marginalized people, recently she provided studies on the provision of a community center for queer youth and old age care facilities for LGBTIQ elders for the city of Vienna.

She has analyzed the social costs of violence and discrimination for women, children (guvofa.eu) and the LGBTI community.

She has also worked on the efficiency of education from a funding perspective.
