Transfer Story: Cuture as a regeneration key from Lodz (Poland) to Bologna (Italy)

"For me the cultural man is the one who knows where to go to look for information in the one-time part of his life where he needs it." said Umberto Eco. But around him, we add, there must be tools and ways to reach culture. In particular where culture is struggling to take root. So, culture can be a powerful activator of city communities and therefore of social regeneration for urban areas. Culture can be an exceptional lever for economic development of a territory also from a sustainability point of view. It’s important to explore and discover the effectiveness of this lever. Culture is the protagonist of this story of knowledge transfer between two European cities rich in history and traditions: Lodz in Poland and Bologna in Italy.

Γιατί είναι σημαντικές οι δράσεις σε επίπεδο πόλης για την καταπολέμηση του αισθήματος ανασφάλειας των πολιτών;

Ο Δήμος Πειραιά, στο πλαίσιο του έργου των Αστικών Καινοτόμων Δράσεων (UIA), “Be Secure Feel Secure-BSFS”, που ανήκει στη θεματική «Αστική Ασφάλεια», ανέφερε στην εναρκτήρια εκδήλωση του έργου (15/07/2020), ότι στόχος του έργου είναι η δημιουργία ενός ενιαίου πλαισίου φυσικής και ψηφιακής ασφάλειας με στόχο την μείωση της τοπικής εγκληματικότητας, ούτως ώστε ο Πειραιάς να γίνει μια πόλη ασφαλέστερη για τους δημότες και τους επισκέπτες του και να αποτελέσει έναν ελκυστικότερο τουριστικό προορισμό.

Heritage-led urban regeneration involves major urban projects requiring significant investment. Political backing and direction are therefore key to attract resources and align necessary contributors and stakeholders. This is a series of short interviews conducted by KAIRÓS lead expert and TASO principal Miguel Rivas to Mayors and elected representatives from the URBACT network KAIRÓS Heritage as Urban Regeneration.
