    Pollinators on the rise

    The Municipality of the 12th District (Hegyvidék) is the local government body responsible for the administration of Budapest’s greenest district, a hilly, partly suburban area in the western part of the Hungarian capital. As the greenest district, Hegyvidék has a huge responsibility to keep an eye on its greenery, to inform and communicate with the residents and to raise their awareness regarding environmental issues, which is why a Green Office, that is responsible for this complex role, had been established in 2016.

  • Bee good for food in Cesena

    Cesena is situated in Northern Italy within the Emilia-Romagna Region, some 15 km from the Adriatic coast. Its geographical position – alongside the banks of the Savio river, surrounded by hills and located on a fertile plain close to the Adriatic coast – offered Cesena a perfect natural predisposition of a “bee friendly city”. Bees are seen as fundamental to maintain biodiversity and to play a part in every aspect of the ecosystem.

  • We care for nature in Bydgoszcz!

    In Bydgoszcz one can find large lowland rivers, small watercourses, various types of forests, communities of meadows and grasslands, peat bogs, parks, squares and gardens. The 2018 Bydgoszcz City Council Resolution lifted the ban on bee breeding and now it is allowed in our city. The City of Bydgoszcz is an ally to nature preservation that strives to demonstrate the importance of pollinators and the need to protect bees. Due to the remaining common fear of bees, all-year-long educational and promotional campaigns should be an essential element of the City's activities.

  • Amarante’s bees bloom

    Amarante is a small European city located in northern Portugal, near Porto, surrounded by amazing mountains, with a lot of history, of which honey and beekeeping are a part of. It has an urban center rich in green spaces full of autochthones melliferous plants, ideal for the bees and other pollinators, but it is in the mountains that the greatest wealth exists, honey.

    The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015 as a universal call of action to protect our planet, end poverty and ensure peace and prosperity for all by 2030. "Global Goals for Cities” is a pilot network and strategic partnership aimed at accelerating progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in 19 cities of the EU, through peer learning and integrated action planning. The partnership is funded through the European Regional Development Fund's URBACT III European Territorial Cooperation programme.

    Για την ιταλική πόλη Τσεζένα, το Δίκτυο Σχεδιασμού Δράσης KAIRÓS του URBACT, σημαίνει μια νέα πρόκληση για τη δοκιμή καινοτόμων μοντέλων διακυβέρνησης και συμμετοχικών διαδικασιών για την αναγέννηση της περιοχής γύρω από το σιδηροδρομικό σταθμό δίπλα στο κέντρο της παλιάς πόλης, που χαρακτηρίζεται από υψηλή ιστορική αξία χάρη στην παρουσία αυθεντικών βιομηχανικών κτιρίων από το 1900 και υψηλό δυναμικό ελκυστικότητας ως πύλη και σημείο άφιξης κυρίως για τουρίστες και μαθητές.

  • INNOVATO-R, “MINDENKI LEHET ÚJÍTÓ!”

    Arról beszélgettünk Kiss Renátával, az URBACT Innovato-R elnevezésű városhálózatának veszprémi koordinátorával, milyen hatást gyakorolt a közigazgatásban dolgozókra, hogy bevonták őket egy innovatív kezdeményezésbe, személyes részvételre és pályázat keretében benyújtott projektötletekre invitálták őket. Mindamellett a 2023-as Európa Kulturális Fővárosa cím elnyeréséért folytatott előkészületekhez is hozzá tudott járulni a torinói jó gyakorlat átvételről szóló európai városfejlesztési együttműködés.
