The City of Bari joined the Com.Unity.Lab Urbact network to be inspired by the Bip/Zip program to improve its local strategy. In this interview Vitandrea Marzano from the City of Bari explains to us what are the key priorities in the city and how they are developing collaborative strategies to tackle urban poverty.

In the past three years, nine European cities, namely Ampelokipi-Menemini (GR), Aveiro (PT), Barcelona (ES), Berlin (DE), Ghent (BE), Gothenburg (SE), Nantes (FR), Sofia (BG) and Tallinn (EE), have been exchanging ideas and expertise on tackling Early leaving from education and training (ELET). Now, Stay Tuned has come to an end.

TALKING ABOUT DOING: Finding a common language about implementation

The URBACT Implementation Networks have supported cities to exchange expertise and knowledge about how to implement their projects more successfully, looking to understand and improve how the implementation of policy works in reality. Stay Tuned has been specifically focussed on projects to reduce Early Leaving from Education and Training (ELET), following and supporting nine cities on their implementation journeys to turn their strategies in to action at a local level.

REFILL@Lille: Temporary spaces, policy design labs and URBACT networks

URBACT lead expert, François Jégou, explains how TRANSFO LILLE, a process of co-construction of a public policy design lab led in the European Metropole of Lille (FR) gave the Metropole’s civil servants a real appetite to foster the development of temporary uses of vacant spaces. 

François Jégou was lead expert of the URBACT REFILL network. He is also part of the Republic of Design, Lille's organising committee for the world design capital 2020.
