  • CAHORS A MATTER (A STORY) OF CENTRALITY

    A few minutes after flying over the Pyrenees, the plane starts its descent to Toulouse airport, the nearest destination to Cahors, one of the small European cities participating in the INT-HERIT project. This project involves and gives name to a network of 9 cities, all committed to the improvement of heritage management at local level as a way of connecting it to their future. In Cahors, the traveller soon discovers the weight of heritage and how for both political representatives and citizens, it is perhaps one of the most important assets when it comes to recovering the centrality of the city for the future, as it was in the past.

  • Welcoming International Talent

    This Transfer network focus on Higher education and knowledge economy, both have become a global competition for talent. Whereas the main European cities attract both students and skilled-workers by their scale and fame, medium-sized cities, like Groningen, will need a policy to attract talent, and to keep them economically active. In this project the best practice of Groningen, a welcoming policy for International Students and skilled workers, is transferred to other cities.

  • URBAN REGENERATION MIX

    The Good Practice to be transferred through the URBAN REGENERATION MIX Transfer network is a collaborative city model that increases the participation of city residents, promotes their equal involvement and strengthens relations between the main stakeholders in urban regeneration processes. The network will focus on the study, identification and application of key success factors that bring back life to degraded urban areas and help to realise the potential of their inhabitants.

    Re-growCity Transfer network focuses on the development of interventions that built on local capabilities to arrest and reverse long term social, economic and environmental decline. Altena has a track record of recognised good practices that facilitate the development of sustainable initiatives with a minimum of external resource input. This network will support partners to revitalise public services and the economy, regenerate the urban fabric and develop civil society in a context of long term decline.
